Porez Luxama, MS, Haitian

Porez Luxama, MS, is the Co-founder and Director of Life of Hope, an organization that provides direct services, youth and adult education, and advocacy to address issues, including language access, affecting the immigrant and largely Afro-Caribbean community of Central Brooklyn. He is a fierce advocate for equity for youth and immigrant families. Previously he served as board member on multiple community-based organizations and taught in NYC public schools for 17 years. He partnered with city and state agencies to help that providing needed services to youth and immigrants from diverse backgrounds, including those who have traditionally been underrepresented. He has received numerous awards and commendations in recognition of his dedication to public service and civic advocacy. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematical Physics and a master's in Public Education.
