As Executive Director of the Federation of Italian American Organizations, Mrs. Sottile has made a real difference in the lives of immigrants, seniors, children and families across Brooklyn and beyond. Since 1988, she has administered an array of programs in the areas of social services, education, culture, and quality of life. As a civic leader, Mrs. Sottile has successfully contributed to the racial and ethnic harmony of New York City communities through initiatives and exchange programs bringing together different religious and ethnic groups. She is passionate about the preservation of the Italian language and culture through Italian language classes and cultural performances from Italy's many regions. She has served on Brooklyn's Community Board 11, numerous PTA's executive boards, and presently on Maimonides Women's Advisory Committee and St. Dominic's R.C. Church's Advisory Council.
