Afsana Monir, Founder and Executive Director of Project New Yorker was born in Bangladesh and educated in England. She moved to the U.S. after completing Law school in London where she worked as a legal counsel in the immigration, labor migration, and human rights law arena. She is a committed social activist, skilled in conflict resolution, and has done extensive community organizing. Under Afsana's leadership, Project New Yorker became the first and only digital learning center in Queens for the Bangladeshi and South Asian immigrant communities, especially for women and youth.
