Pillar of the Community Award

As a former police officer and captain, a state senator, Brooklyn borough president and as now New York City Mayor, Eric L. Adams has dedicated his life to public service with particular emphasis on protecting New Yorkers. The wisdom, history, commitment, and passion that so many of our residents exhibit and extend to their neighbors makes them the Pillars of our communities and city. It is in this spirit that Mayor Adams would like to honor residents who have lived on the block, resided in buildings, served in a civic organization the longest. Please join the Mayor as he travels throughout the city to pay tribute to the pillars of our communities.
