FOIL Requests must be made through OpenRecords.nyc.gov portal. Please make your request specific so you receive the fastest service. After you submit a FOIL request you will receive a confirmation number so you can track the status of the response.

Costs/Fees

The Records Access Officer will notify you of the number of pages responsive to your request.  Hard copies of records will incur a charge of twenty-five ($.25) cents per page, which must be paid prior to the release of the requested records.  A check for the applicable fee must be made payable to “The New York City Board of Standards and Appeals” and mailed to:

Denials

Pursuant to the Public Officers Law, certain records are exempt from disclosure and your request may be denied, in whole or in part, if certain records qualify under these exemptions.  You may appeal the denial of your request by sending a letter to:
