MOUA’s aim is to develop and integrate innovative, nature-based models that will provide increased food production and economic opportunities, while strengthening environmental resilience, in neighborhoods across NYC. MOUA is exploring how to increase innovation through agriculture in the city through the release of the following requests for information (RFI) to better understand the feasibility and replicability of two approaches.

Urban Agrivoltaics

The Mayor’s Office of Urban Agriculture (MOUA) is happy to announce the release of the below Request for Information (RFI) for its Urban Agrivoltaics in NYC Pilot project. MOUA is issuing this RFI to seek technical knowledge and gauge interest from the urban agriculture and solar sectors to explore developing urban agrivoltaics models on city-owned rooftops. This outreach effort is intended to be informational only, as the MOUA seeks to utilize the RFI process to hear from the solar and agriculture communities in order to gain information and understanding around this innovative project and its components.

School Food Forest

The Mayor’s Office of Urban Agriculture (MOUA) is happy to announce the release of the below Request for Information (RFI) for its NYC School Food Forest pilot project. MOUA is issuing this RFI to seek knowledge in the agriculture and horticulture sectors to gauge the feasibility and interest in engaging in the development of a school food forest. MOUA is seeking ideas and related information to better understand the potential for developing school food forest sites in neighborhoods to increase spaces for experiential learning, intergenerational engagement, and food production while strengthening environmental resilience. This outreach effort is intended to be informational only, as the MOUA seeks to utilize the RFI process to hear from the agriculture and horticulture communities in order to gain information and understanding around this innovative project and its components.
