    Provide photo identification (ID) of the license applicant. More info

      Acceptable forms of ID include:

      • Driver’s license or a non-driver’s license identification issued by a State Department of Motor Vehicles
      • Passport
      • Alien card/green card
      • City, State, or Federal employee ID card
      • Municipal ID card

    Applicants must submit a current color passport-size photograph of themselves.  More info

      Note: Applicants can be photographed at the DCWP Licensing Center at no cost or upload an image file of digital passport photo quality. A digital camera with a resolution of 1 mega-pixel is adequate.

    If you do not reside in New York City, you must complete and submit the Ticket Seller Non-NYC Resident Form.

      If you are an honorably discharged veteran of the United States or the surviving spouse or domestic partner of an honorably discharged veteran and reside in New York State, you are eligible for fee exemption in this category. More info

        Please submit ONE of the following documents as proof of your eligibility to receive fee exemption:

        • Proof of honorable discharge issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), such as:
          • Original statement of service OR
          • Original DD Form 214, Discharge Papers, or Separation Documents OR
          • Member 4 copy of the DD Form 214, Discharge Papers, or Separation Documents

        • If you are the surviving spouse or domestic partner of a veteran, provide ALL of the following documents:
          • Proof of marriage or domestic partnership (e.g., original marriage certificate, original certificate of domestic partnership, joint lease, or mortgage documents). Please note that proof is subject to DCWP’s review and approval. AND
          • Original death certificate. AND
          • ONE proof of honorable discharge. (See above.)

      If this application will be prepared and submitted by someone other than the license applicant, the license applicant must submit a Granting Authority to Act Affirmation. More info

        Note: The applicant must sign all required documents.

        If You File Your Application Between These Dates: Your License Fee is:
        From August 1 to January 31 $45.00
        From February 1 to July 31 $22.50 or *$67.50
        *If you are applying within six months of the license expiration date, you can pay the prorated fee for the remaining license term plus the full fee to renew the license for the next term. If you pay both fees, you will not need to renew the license until the end of the next license period.

        Exception: If you are an honorably discharged veteran of the United States or the surviving spouse or domestic partner of an honorably discharged veteran and reside in New York State, you are eligible for fee exemption.

        - Check or money order payable to DCWP. (In person application submissions.)
        - Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card only). You will be charged a nonrefundable Convenience Fee. (In person or online application submissions.)

      Steps to apply online:

      Review the requirements for the license and gather all materials before clicking the Apply Online button. Note: You will be redirected to a new web page where you will need a registered account with the City of New York to submit an online application.

        After submitting an application online, print a copy of the Confirmation Page. The Confirmation Page will list the additional steps and materials required to complete the application. These materials are also listed above and must be submitted within five business days of filing the application online if they were not uploaded as part of the online application submission.
