Getting to Summer Streets
By Bike
Download the official NYC Bike Map to plan your route, or get one for free at your local bike shop or by calling 311 (in New York City).
By Citi Bike
Citi Bike stations are located along the Summer Streets route, and are expected to be heavily used during Summer Streets. Use the Citi Bike map or app to check station availability.
By Subway
The entire route is easily accessible by the 4, 5 and 6 subway lines.
By Rail
Take Metro-North to 125th Street and walk or bike downtown to join the route, or take Metro-North to Grand Central Station, located along the route.
Take LIRR to Atlantic Terminal in Downtown Brooklyn and walk or bike across the Brooklyn Bridge, or to Penn Station and walk or bike crosstown to join the route.
Take NJ Transit to Penn Station and walk or bike crosstown to join the route. Note that bicycles are not permitted on NJ Transit weekend trains to New York from 9 am to 12 pm.
Take the PATH to any station in Manhattan and walk or bike crosstown to join the route. Bicycles are permitted on the PATH at all times on weekends.
By Ferry
Take the Staten Island Ferry to Whitehall Terminal and walk or bike north to Lafayette Street.
Take the NYC Ferry to Wall Street-Pier 11 or 34th Street and walk or bike to join the route.
Take NY Waterway to Midtown-West 39th Street and walk or bike crosstown to join the route.
By Car
Parking on the streets and in local parking garages surrounding the Summer Streets route will be restricted due to street closures. All participants are encouraged to take mass transit, walk or bike to get to Summer Streets.
