MOME congratulates the NYC filmmakers and performers recognized during this awards show season, which began with the Gotham Awards in December and culminated with the Academy Awards in March. Eight TV productions and two film productions received a total of 24 awards, while 34 productions received nominations.

MOME Events & Resources
The Mayor’s Office of Media Entertainment (MOME) is providing its first-ever grant to support a “Made in NY” Fellow for the Moonshot Pilot Accelerator, ensuring that at least one emerging TV writer selected to the highly competitive program is a New York City resident. Applications are open April 1 through May 27, and applicants can submit their pilot scripts through Scrybe.

MOME Looks Back
MOME proudly presented a “Made in NY” Award to Rebecca Damon, Chief Labor Policy Officer and New York Executive Director, SAG-AFTRA at the 46th Annual NYWIFT Muse Awards on Friday, March 20 in NYC.

A champion for workers’ rights, Damon has advocated for a worker centered trade policy and protections for SAG-AFTRA members in a fast changing technological landscape and increasingly globalized creative industry. Damon’s leadership includes advancing smart guardrails around AI as well as strengthening New York’s right of publicity and digital image rights for the benefit of all members.
