Most work site accidents are preventable if proper safety precautions are taken. Clipping in safety harnesses when working near an open drop, installing/maintaining proper guardrails and work site safeguards, also good housing keeping practices on the site, are all ways the potential for injury can be prevented before a tragedy occurs. But if an accident does happen, it is important to speak up and report it immediately to both your supervisors at the site and to the Department.
DOB safety inspectors are there to confirm your construction site, your place of work, is not posing a danger to you and your coworkers. DOB will not ask for immigration status, and accidents can be reported anonymously. Our mission is always one of safety.
