Program Description

The Build It Back Single-Family Program was designed to assist owners of properties with one to four units affected by Hurricane Sandy. Assistance types offered were based on an analysis of the damage to the applicant’s home and other factors such as location, site constraints, and building type. Homeowners were eligible for one or more of the program’s pathways:

• Repair,
• Repair with Elevation,
• Rebuild,
• Reimbursement,
• Optional Relocation,
• Acquisition,
• Buyout,
• Breezy Point and Edgewater Cooperative Relocation
• NY Rising Acquisition for Redevelopment or Buyout
• Resettlement Incentives
