Mayor Bill de Blasio: Alright, everybody, you are making us so proud today.

This is one of the greatest events of the year in New York City. It is the greatest marathon anywhere in the world.

We have 139 countries represented here today – 50,000 runners. You are going to get the warmest reception in the world out there on the streets of New York City. You are going to get a lot of love and you deserve it for what you’re doing.

And, let’s give some inspiration today to the New York Mets, while you’re at it. Show them what it looks like to win.
