Transcript: Mayor Adams Appears On 93.1 Amor’s “La Bodega De La Mañana”

September 18, 2023

Arlette Borrelly: [Speaks in Spanish.]

Mayor Eric Adams: Buenos dias, hola mi gente. It's good to be here with you.

Borrelly: Nice!

Alfredo Galván: Very nice. Very nice. Eric Adams. What an honor to have you here. We have, you know,  just a little bit...some questions, very short questions for you this morning. We talk a lot about what's happening in the city, about what's going on with immigration, with like, you know, all the things that are happening here.

We have...I do have to say that I do admire the fact that you are being very vocal [speaks in Spanish]. You said that it was going to be disastrous for the city, and then you doubled down on that. How do you feel about that now?

Mayor Adams: Well, it's so important, but we have to be clear on what I said and not allow people to distort it. I didn't say my migrants and asylum seekers who I've been close with are disastrous for the city, the financial crisis, the issue is disastrous. It's unfair to everyday taxpayers, it's unfair to the migrants. This is a national problem. They need to be picking up the price tag and not New York City taxpayers.

Galván: [Exacto], and [speaks in Spanish].
