Statement from Mayor Bill de Blasio on Earthquake in Ecuador

"The violent earthquake that shook Ecuador on Saturday is being felt right here in New York, home to nearly 140,000 Ecuadorian New Yorkers. We know they are deeply concerned about their loved ones, as are we. Our Community Affairs Unit is already on the ground working with community organizations and leaders to best channel any support we can offer as Ecuadorians prioritize rescue efforts and begin to rebuild their cities."
