Statement from Mayor de Blasio on Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu National Blue Alert Act

"On behalf of all New Yorkers, I want to thank President Obama for signing the Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu National Blue Alert Act into law today. On one tragic day last December, two of this city's Finest were taken from us, and New Yorkers felt a painful and profound loss. The dedicated men and women who patrol our streets put their lives on the line each day to keep us safe, and we in turn must use every tool available to keep our officers safe. This alert system will help fulfill our unwavering responsibility to protect our police officers."
