Statement by Mayor de Blasio on The Passing of Victor Gotbaum

"Victor Gotbaum was a true New York City warrior - a man of action who dedicated his life to organizing workers and improving their lives. Victor also understood the importance of boldly extending a hand in compromise, bringing together labor and management to get the city through the fiscal crisis of the 1970s and protect our future. I extend my deepest condolences to his wife Betsy, the entire Gotbaum family, AFSCME, and all those whose lives he touched."
