Statement from Mayor Bill de Blasio on Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's Family Act

Mayor de Blasio released the following statement today:  

“Families across the five boroughs and throughout the nation deserve comprehensive paid family leave to ensure they can care for their loved ones — and I fully support Senator Gillibrand’s proposal to guarantee this basic right. For far too long, hard-working parents across our city have been forced to choose between taking care of a sick child and earning their daily paycheck. Senator Gillibrand’s Family and Medical Insurance Leave Act is strong public policy, and I look forward to standing beside her in the effort to support our country’s working parents.”
