"With the confirmation of Gil Quiniones, the Power Authority has gained a leader whose expertise will help move New York towards a cleaner, more efficient energy future. Gil's extensive work in our Administration's Economic Development Corporation and as chair of the Energy Policy Task Force was critical to the development of our of own energy plan, and remains a core part of our long-term sustainability program, PlaNYC. Gil will bring his extensive knowledge to the Power Authority, and I look forward to building on our shared work, particularly our efforts to meet PlaNYC's goals to reduce greenhouse gases, improve efficiency and modernize our energy infrastructure."
