Welcome NYC Civic Corps Class of 2012-2013
October marked the start of a new Civic Corps Year. NYC
Civic Corps members are an amazing group of AmeriCorps volunteers
charged with making an impact in the areas of economic opportunity,
education, health services, and capacity building at
non-profits across New York City. Be on the lookout

MillionTreesNYC Fall Planting Day
Join MillionTreesNYC, NYC Service, and fellow volunteers on October
27, 2012 from 9-1pm to make New York City greener and
greater, by volunteering to help plant 20,000 trees at parks citywide!

inMotion's 2012 Annual Stair Climb, Story by
Story
On October 18th, join inMotion for their annual Story by
Story--Climbing to End Domestic Violence event. Volunteers are
needed to help with check-in, set-up, and overall event support.
inMotion is a non-profit organization which provides pro-bono
legal services to low-income women who need free legal services in
matrimonial, family, and immigration law in New York City.

Support Survivors of Domestic Violence
The Queens Family Justice Center (QFJC) is seeking volunteers for their
client care services program. Volunteers will be responsible
for providing support to QFJC staff by researching and collecting
data on available community resources and programs available to

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Be a part American Cancer Society's awareness day on October 21st.
Help get the word and direct cancer survivors to available resources

Legal Services Volunteer
Calling all New York attorneys! Are you a lawyer who wants to help
your fellow New Yorkers during this difficult economic time? Volunteer
with Legal Services --- NYC Service's network of committed pro
bono attorneys who strategically and effectively address New York
City's most pressing challenges. The foreclosure crisis remains
a problem in 2012, as many foreclosure cases are caught up in the
courts system and need the assistance of volunteer attorneys. Sign
up to volunteer.

New York Times Scholarship
The New York Times College Scholarship Program 2012-2013 College
Scholarship Application is open to high school seniors in public,
private, or parochial schools in the five boroughs of NYC who have
demonstrated superlative academic achievement despite significant
obstacles - financial or otherwise. Applications must be received
by Friday, October 26, 2012. To download program information and
