Premiere of New NYC Media TV Series, Walkin’ NYC – March 11, 8pm: |
• NYC Media, the official broadcast network for the City of New York is proud to present Walkin’ NYC, a laugh-filled walking tour of the city’s most fascinating neighborhoods. The show is hosted by certified NYC tour guide, historian and comedian, Tom Delgado.
• Walkin’ NYC will premiere on NYC Life (WNYE-TV/Channel 25), the City’s Emmy Award-winning lifestyle channel, March 11th at 8pm, with an episode focused on Irish New York to coincide with the City’s upcoming St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

NYC Public School Film Festival Submission Period – EXTENDED TO MARCH 14: |
• The submission period for the 7th annual Public School Film Festival, presented by MOME and NYC Public Schools and designed to celebrate the diversity of student voices, is now open and available to all middle and high school students.
• The festival will take place for the first time at the Museum of the Moving Image on April 25, 2025, and feature multiple screenings, room for families, and panels on everything from high school and college admissions to pre-professional programs.

Kings... Come Home North American Premiere – March 5-16: |
• MOME is proud to partner with the National Black Theatre to present performances and an artist discussion as part of the Kings… Come Home run at the Apollo Stages at the Victoria Theatre.
• Kings… Come Home is a journey that explores the trials of migration, reveals the lasting effects of displacement and the forces—both visible and unseen—that drive it.

2025 Minecraft Battle of the Boroughs Submission Period – LAST DAY TO SUBMIT IS MARCH 7: |
• The submission period for the 2025 Minecraft Education Battle of the Boroughs ESports competition is now open and available to any NYC Public School students grade K-12.
• The fifth annual competition includes in-person qualifying rounds in each borough, and the Mayor’s Cup Final in May, where winners will be declared for elementary, middle and high school teams.

New York International Children’s Film Festival (NYICFF) – NOW-March 16: |
• The NYICFF is back to curate new films for kids and families throughout NYC and provide young audiences with a look behind the scenes.
• Engagement with young audiences include filmmaker Q&As, voting ballots, panel discussions and more that help to demystify the filmmaking process and present it as a rewarding career path for the audience.

Athena Film Festival – March 6-9: |
• Celebrate Women’s History Month with the 15th anniversary of New York’s women’s leadership film festival, The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College.
• This event will feature inspiring films – all featuring strong, fearless women leaders – engaging discussions, and vibrant community events.

SR Socially Relevant Film Festival – March 11-16: |
• The 12th annual SR Socially Relevant Film Festival NY will be held in person at The National Arts Club, Cinema Village, The Maysles Documentary Center, MRHS, The FORUM, and at the Tenri Center for a red-carpet Jury Awards Ceremony. The festival will also include a preview event marking Black History Month on February 24 at MRHS.
• Live broadcast interviews with the filmmakers will stream on the festival’s YouTube channel starting in February and leading up to the festival.
• The Online section kicks in on March 17 with a wide selection of narrative features, documentaries, short films, music videos, web episodes, and a script-writing competition. All films in the selection deal with critical social issues and are followed by Q&A sessions with the filmmakers.

“Made in NY” Talks Series Spring 2025 – March: |
• Presented in partnership with the Center for Communication, the “Made in NY” Talks series brings together industry leaders to share insights, information and news with New Yorkers looking to work in the media and entertainment industries. The talks are in-person, free and open to the public. March events include:
○ In Conversation: Tubi CEO Anjali Sud - Wednesday, March 19, 6:30 to 8:00 PM at SVA Theatre, 333 West 23rd St.
○ New Opportunities in Advertising + Marketing - Monday, March 24,

New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) Muse Awards – March 26: |
• Just in time for Women’s History Month, the 45th annual NYWIFT Muse Awards will celebrate women of vision and achievement at Cipriani 42nd street.
• This NY industry awards luncheon celebrates the legacy and future of accomplished women across the media and entertainment industry, including actors, directors, executives, journalists, producers, and more.
• Past honorees have included Meryl Streep, Cicely Tyson, Claire Danes, Jodie Foster, Julie Dash, Nora Ephron, Sandra Oh, Glenn Close, and Jane Rosenthal, among others and this year, MOME will once again present its acclaimed “Made in NY” Award to an industry.

ReelAbilities Film Festival & Industry Summit – April 3-9: |
• The ReelAbilities Film Festival, a showcase of accessible and inclusive international cinema, is back for its 17th year, and the Industry Summit, in partnership with MOME, is back for its 4th year.
• The summit brings together creatives, presenters, and industry leaders to explore disability inclusion and equity in film and performing arts. With a focus on progressive best practices, the event dives beyond the basics to provide actionable resources and open pathways for deeper accessibility and meaningful inclusion in the industry.

Unlock Her Potential sUPosium – April 6: |
• MOME is proud to partner on the 3rd annual Unlock Her Potential sUPosium at the NYU Brooklyn Campus, an engaging and empowering all-day event, bringing together folks across industries for meaningful conversations and panels on topics that are particularly relevant to women of color, such as financial literacy, workplace politics, and a Q&A with UHP founder, Sophia Chang.
• The mission of Unlock Her Potential charitable organization is to provide guidance, knowledge and encouragement to people who have been underrepresented historically in leadership positions in media and entertainment.

“Made in NY” Production Assistant Training Program Graduation: |
• Last month, MOME was on hand to celebrate the newest graduates of the signature workforce training program that has been helping New Yorkers enter into NYC’s film & TV industry since 2006.
• 15 new graduates of the 78th cohort joined the already 1200 New Yorkers who have gone through the program.

“Made in NY” Production Anora sweeps the Oscars! |
• Neon’s film Anora, which racked up five Oscars on Sunday night and 14 total awards so far this awards show season, is the first “Made in NY” production to win the Academy Award for Best Picture in 10 years, since 2014’s Birdman.
• The honor, in addition to the awards show season accolades for other “Made in NY” productions, such as HBO’s The Penguin and NBC’s Saturday Night Live, speaks to this administration’s ongoing efforts to make NYC a “City of Yes” in terms of production and underscores the local creative talent that live and work here.
