UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES & EVENTS
New York Music Month is HERE! – June 2025: 
•    The 8th annual New York Music Month (NYMM), the City’s official music festival held every June, is happening NOW across the five boroughs, having officially kicked off on Tuesday, June 3 with the annual NYMM Conference.
•    50+ FREE events are available for New Yorkers to attend and enjoy, including concerts, talks, panels and free rehearsal studio rentals.
•    Upcoming events include:
     ○    Sona Block Party - June 7
     ○    Anti Social Camp Opening Ceremony - June 9
     ○    Music as a Business: Real World Tactics for Modern Industry, presented by Earthprogram - June 10
•    The full line-up is available on the brand new NYMM website at NYMusicMonth.NYC

NYC Summer of Games is HAPPENING – Now-Sept.: 
•    MOME handed out trophies to the winners of the Minecraft Education Battle of the Boroughs Competition in the elementary, middle and high school divisions as part of the first-ever NYC Video Game Festival on Saturday, May 31.
•    The event officially kicked off ‘NYC Summer of Games,’ a citywide celebration of the booming digital games community featuring marquee events, expos, tournaments, exhibits, workshops, and programs across the five boroughs this summer.
•    Upcoming JUNE events include:
    ○     Tribeca Games Gallery – June 11-15
    ○     Waffle Games 8.0 – June 14 -15
    ○     Power Up Festival – June 14
    ○     Paley GX Gaming NBA2K25 + Fortnite – June 14,28
    ○     G4C Next Gen Summit – June 22
    ○     Games for Change Festival – June 26-27

Teamsters Scout Panel at Photoville Festival - June 8:
•    Photoville 2025, a citywide celebration of visual storytelling that runs June 7-22, will partner with MOME and Local 817 to present a special conversation with film/tv production location scouts who will speak to real life stories working on the iconic streets and in front of the world-renowned backdrops of NYC.
•    The discussion will be moderated by MOME’s Deputy Commissioner of the Film Office, Kwame Amoaku.

Dominican Film Festival Submissions – Now through July 3: 
•    The 14th edition of the Dominican Film Festival in New York (DFFNYC) is now accepting submissions for its 2025 showcase, which takes place later this year, running October 22–30 in Manhattan and the Bronx.
•    Under the theme "Crossing Borders," this year’s festival expands its footprint and adds exciting new categories for films by Dominican filmmakers, the diaspora, and co-productions involving the Dominican Republic.

A LOOK BACK
Drama Desk Awards:
•   MOME Commissioner Pat Swinney Kaufman attended the Drama Desk Awards on Sunday, June 1, commenting “Congratulations to all the 2025 Drama Desk Award winners and nominees, and the creative and production teams behind this iconic NYC institution, which celebrates the talent across our entire theatre industry. The event was a true celebration of what makes the City of NY the creative capital of the world and we are so pleased to have been a part of it.”

NYWIFT Panel Discussion: 
•    MOME Commissioner Pat Swinney Kaufman presented opening remarks for a panel discussion titled “Behind the Lens: NYWIFT Filmmakers in Focus at Tribeca”. The panel was presented in partnership with New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) at Kaufman Astoria Studios to celebrate NYWIFT members who have films premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival this month.
