NYC Summer of Games – Now-September: |
• The 2nd annual NYC Summer of Games, an initiative meant to shine a spotlight on NYC’s digital gaming community activations, is going on now, featuring marquee events, expos, tournaments, exhibits, workshops, and programs across the five boroughs this summer.
• Upcoming AUGUST events include:
○ Paley GX Minecraft Coding Workshop: August 13, The Paley Museum, 25 West 52 Street, New York, NY
○ Play NYC 2025 (10th Anniversary): August 21-24, Javits Center, 429 11th Ave, New York, NY
○ NYC Indie Dev Night hosted by Playcrafting: August 28, 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM, BrookLAN, 339 Troutman St, Brooklyn, NY

Asian American International Film Festival - July 31-August 10: |
• The 48th Asian American International Film Festival will take place both in New York City and virtually, and will feature a captivating array of films that delve into themes of love, relationships, grief, and complex emotions.
• In addition to a stellar lineup of films, the festival will feature exclusive panels, receptions, and VIP events, providing unique opportunities to connect with industry professionals and fellow film enthusiasts.

Harlem Week - August 1-17: |
• New York City’s tradition of Harlem Week is back with an extraordinary line-up of virtual and live events celebrating everything from arts and culture to business and health.
• The celebration includes the Percy Sutton 5-k run, Hazel Dukes Memorial Walk, A Great Day in Harlem, Summer in the City, and the event that started it all – “Harlem Day!”

The Bushwick Starr’s Summers at the STARR - August 2-31: |
• The Bushwick Starr is launching their very first summer season at its new permanent home throughout the month of August during Summers at the Starr; a vibrant lineup of fun, free, community-rooted events designed to bring neighbors together, uplift local artists, and showcase the creative spirit that makes Bushwick so special.
• From movies & markets to participatory talks & performances, there’s something for everyone.

Teatro SEA Arte Pa’ Mi Gente Festival - August 9: |
• Teatro SEA invites families across New York City Suffolk Street (between Rivington and Delancey) for an afternoon of music, dance, culture, and community as part of the Arte Pa’ Mi Gente Festival and the 2nd Annual Latine Children’s Music Day.
• This free outdoor celebration will feature a lineup of top-tier performers dedicated to uplifting Latiné children’s music and culture, with Grammy Award-winning artist Lucy Kalantari, known for her joyful and jazz-infused music for children, to headline the event, and joined by a vibrant mix of youth performers and special guests from across the city and beyond.

Delacorte Theatre Ribbon Cutting: |
• MOME Commissioner Pat Swinney Kaufman gave remarks, alongside Deputy Mayor Adolfo Carrion and members of the NYC Theatre and Live Performance Industry Council, at the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park.
• The event brought awareness to the upcoming season of Shakespeare in the Park – gathering the cast of the production of Twelfth Night – and NYC’s entire creative community that live and work here. |

“Made in NY” Workforce Training Program News: |
• MOME is proud to support multiple workforce training programs across the City of NY to prepare under-employed and young New Yorkers for jobs in our media and entertainment industries. July milestones included:
○ SoundThinkingNYC Summer Intensive - a four-week program that has serviced 428 students since inception. |
