The People’s Money! Citywide Participatory Budgeting
“The People’s Money” has officially launched Phase 2: Project Evaluation and Ballot Creation! During this phase, members of Borough Assembly Committees (BACs) and Neighborhood Assembly Committees (NACs) will review, deliberate, and evaluate the projects that were submitted in Phase 1: Idea Generation, and make recommendations about which ideas should appear on the ballots during Phase 3: Voting!

Using criteria developed to ensure equity, need, and feasibility, the committees will work together to determine which projects will be further developed into proposals that can be implemented. An open call will be conducted inviting organizations to apply to implement projects as needed. You can check out the project ideas that were submitted for your borough or TRIE neighborhood during Idea Generation, and follow the process at participate.nyc.gov to find out which projects will be on the ballot in your community.
During the upcoming voting phase, all NYC residents, age 11 and up, will be able to vote on how to spend a total of $5 million mayoral expense dollars. Anyone living in one of the five boroughs will be able to vote on a ballot for their borough. Residents living in one of the 33 TRIE neighborhoods will also be able to vote on a ballot for their neighborhood.
To help us get the word out about “The People’s Money” and get as many people involved in this process as possible, don't forget to tell a friend, family member, and/or colleague about “The People’s Money!”
