Workforce

Build It Back is committed to hiring locally and providing workforce training to Sandy-impacted residents.

As part of our commitment, Build It Back and the Department of Small Business Services have launched the Sandy Recovery Workforce1 Program. Among the opportunities available to Sandy-impacted New Yorkers:
  • Job matching and recruitment events with Build It Back contractors and other loccal employers, with Sandy-impacted residents receiving priority access
  • Job-training vouchers for union pre-apprenticeship programs, which provide the opportunity for direct entry to construction union apprenticeships
  • Career counseling, resume editing, and practice interviews

The City of New York is committed to ensuring opportunities for people impacted by Super Storm Sandy.
