Vinegar Marinated Steak
4 servings
Ingredients
- 1 lb. sirloin (trimmed of fat)
- 1/8 c. vinegar
- 2 T. oregano
- Pinch of salt
- 1/8 t. ground black pepper
- 1 red onion
- 2 T. extra virgin olive oil
- Vegetable cooking oil spray
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to broil (high).
2. Slice the red onion and set aside.
3. Thinly slice beef and pound to tenderize it. Place the beef slices in vinegar for ½ hour. Coat the top of the meat with cooking spray and season with the salt, pepper, and oregano. Broil steak from 3 to 5 minutes, coating the other side with cooking spray when half way through to desired doneness, then keep warm.
4. Add the oil to a small sauté or frying pan and heat until hot, then add onions and sauté until browned. Remove the onions from the pan, and drain between 2 layers of paper towels.
5. Reheat the steak with the onions and serve.
