Swiss Salad


  • 1 small head iceberg lettuce
  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • ¼ pound fresh spinach
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • ½ cup lo-cal French dressing


  1. Rinse and wash greens
  2. Drain thoroughly
  3. Break into large pieces; places in plastic bag or tightly covered container
  4. Store in refrigerator 4 to 6 hours or overnight to crisp
  5. Score cucumber with tips of fork
  6. Cut into 1/8-inch (3-mm) slices
  7. Cut green pepper into thin rings
  8. Cut cherry tomatoes in half
  9. Just before serving, carefully pat greens dry on towel
  10. Place greens in large wooden bowl; cover with French dressing
  11. Toss greens lightly, coating all leaves with dressing
  12. Top with cucumber, green pepper, and cherry tomatoes
  13. Serve immediately
