| Energy Auditor Certifications and Trainings Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) offers classroom and online training for the CEA certification. All candidates are required to complete live or web-based trainings before taking the CEA examination. Live Trainings 5-Day Comprehensive Training for Energy Managers 4-Day Training Course for Government-Involved Energy Professionals 2-Day Preparatory Fast Track Course Online Trainings Fast Track Online Seminar for Energy ManagersHigh Performance Building Design Professional (HPBD) Eligible contractors need to complete an application and pass an exam to become certified. No trainings are available. For eligibility requirements and the exam application for High Performance Building Design Professional Certification, please refer to the American Society for Heating Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers' (ASHRAE) website for HPBD information. Multi-Family Building Analyst (MFBA) The Building Performance Institute (BPI) does not require specific training prior to becoming certified. Please refer to the BPI website for BPI certification details. NYSERDA Approved FlexTech Consultants New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) FlexTech Consultants must show experience and a thorough understanding of working with and providing energy efficiency services to commercial and industrial customers within New York State. | Retro-commissioner Certifications and Trainings Accredited Commissioning Process Authority Professional (ACAP) At this time, there are no local training programs available for this certification. For additional information, please refer to the University of Wisconsin website. Certified Building Commissioning Firm (CBCF) The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is now offering CBCF certification for eligible firms. Read more about eligibility requirements at the CBCF website. Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP) AEE also offers classroom training and examination for the CBCP Certification. Live Trainings 3-Day Seminar and Examination 5-Day Comprehensive Training and ExaminationCertified Commissioning Professional (CCP) To earn the Building Commissioning Association's (BCA) CCP designation, participants must complete an application that is reviewed by the Building Commissioning Certification Board and pass a comprehensive 2-hour examination. For additional information, visit the BCA website. Note that there are NYSERDA discounts for the CCP training for those who live or work in the New York State Service Benefits Charge (NYS SBC) service territory or who demonstrate active participation in a NYSERDA or utility program funded by the NYS SBC or Energy Efficiency Porfolio Standard (EEPS).
