MOFTB Gives Back This Holiday Season

December 1, 2009 - This holiday season, the staff at MOFTB has found new ways to give back to the community.

Right before Thanksgiving, MOFTB joined the Mayor’s Office of Veterans’ Affairs to pack and sort care packages for New York City troops serving overseas. Click here to learn more about the Mayor’s Office of Veterans’ Affairs.

MOFTB also has its own knitting group. For the past few weeks, staffers been knitting a blanket in their spare time that will be donated to a local charity. Victoria Bader, MOFTB staffer and a long-time volunteer with ASPCA, also recruited her co-workers to knit small blankets that are used as beds for cats waiting for adoption. So far, more than a dozen small cat blankets have been crocheted by MOFTB staffers.

Additionally, MOFTB is participating in City Harvest’s annual food drive through the month; staffers have been collecting nonperishable food.
