Green Cart Waiting List
The NYC Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene is about to establish new waiting lists for those people interested in securing a permit to sell fresh fruits and vegetables in designated areas of New York City. Under the law signed by the Mayor, disabled veterans, disabled persons and non-disabled veterans are considered “preference groups” and would secure a better waiting list position than those not so qualified. Interested individuals can obtain this information by calling 311, by picking up a packet at the Licensing Center at 42 Broadway, 5th floor, New York, NY 10004 or by accessing the website link below.

Special Extra Earnings for Military Service
Since 1957, if you had military service earnings for active duty (including active duty for training), you paid Social Security taxes on those earnings. Since 1988, inactive duty service in the Armed Forces reserves (such as weekend drills) has also been covered by Social Security.
Under certain circumstances, special extra earnings for your military service from 1957 through 2001 can be credited to your record for Social Security purposes. These extra earnings credits may help you qualify for Social Security or increase the amount of your Social Security benefit.
