Brooklyn Councilmember Thanks FDNY Firefighters Who Saved Five from Thanksgiving Day Fire

Brooklyn Councilmember Brad Lander visited two firehouses on Dec. 2, to give citations to the firefighters who saved five people from a fire on Thanksgiving Day.

"Thank you, from a grateful community," Councilmember Lander said. "What you see as just doing your job, we see as extraordinary heroism."

The Concilmember with the members of Engine 219, Ladder 105 and Rescue 2.

The Councilmember visited Engine 220/Ladder 122 and Engine 219/Ladder 105. The members of Squad 1 and Rescue 2 also attended the ceremony and were given citations.

"I can't be prouder of their efforts," said Brooklyn Borough Commander James Leonard. "It's truly a Thanksgiving miracle."
