FDNY Team Wins EMS Competition

FDNY EMS Instructors Joe Fortis and Gilbert Ramos, along with EMT Fortis's son, EMT Joseph Fortis, Jr., (who currently works for the Empress Ambulance Service and is on the list to become an FDNY EMT) competed in and won the Greater Baldwinsville (NY) Ambulance Corp EMS Competition on Sept. 24.

Teams from as far away as Florida competed.

The competition consisted of four individual scenarios, which required teams to treat multiple patients at the same time.

The FDNY team won the competition by nearly 180 points.
