Fireman's Fund and HUB International Northeast Give Grant to Queens Firehouse

Representatives from Fireman's Fund Insurance and HUB International Northeast join members of Engine 324 and Division 14 on their apparatus floor.
Fireman's Fund Insurance and HUB International Northeast chose the members of Engine 324 and Division 14 to be the recipients of their most recent grant on Sept. 20.
The generous $17,667 grant will be used for the purchase of equipment to enhance the training, technology and physical fitness of members.
"These funds are so important to the FDNY," said Queens Borough Commander Chief John Sudnik.
The grant funds will be used to purchase a digital camera, laptop computer and other technology for Engine 324/Division 14. This purchase will allow firefighters to make customized in-house presentations that deal specifically with the buildings, hazards and environments in their response area.
Grant funds will also be used to purchase equipment used to maintain tools in the firehouse, and for use in emergency situations. In addition, this generous grant will be used to purchase new equipment to enhance the physical fitness of firefighters, including an elliptical machine and treadmill.
"We're so proud to be here in support of the FDNY," said Glenn Skrynecki, Vice President Fireman's Fund. "We want to make a difference for great people like you."
James Hutchinson, Senior Vice President of Marketing for HUB International Northeast added, "Thank you to each of you for helping New York every day."
The Fireman's Fund has awarded more than $540,000 to the New York City Fire Department since December 2006. This is the fifth grant HUB International Northeast has awarded the FDNY.
