FDNY Team Earns First in Statewide EMS Competition

An FDNY EMS team took first place in a statewide EMS Competition at Albany Medical Center on May 15.
The team, led by Instructor EMT Joe Fortis, Paramedic Joe Hudak and Instructor Paramedic Kevin Ramdayal won first in the ALS competition.
EMT Fortis said the judges "found it difficult to keep up with the team."
The team's win qualified them to compete for the ALS National title in July.
The team dedicated their win to Paramedic Eddy Perez, who had to leave the competition hours before its start for a family emergency.
Paramedic Joe Hudak also was a part of the team that won first place in the FDNY's EMS Competition for EMS Week on May 19.
