FDNY EMS Command Honored by the New York City Road Runners

The New York City Road Runners (NYCRR) honored the FDNY EMS Command at their Club Night on March 24 at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square.
The EMS Command received an award recognizing their continued contribution to the ING New York City Marathon and other the NYCRR events throughout the years.

Also recognized during the ceremony was EMT Monica Hendrix, who ran in the 2008 marathon. During the race a runner collapsed on the Queensboro Bridge and went into cardiac arrest. She stopped to assist the runner, who survived, and then continued on to finish the race with a time of 5:25:46.
