Health Bucks

Health Bucks are $2 coupons that can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at all NYC farmers markets.

There are more than 120 farmers markets across the five boroughs every summer and fall. For the most up-to-date farmers market locations and days/hours of operation, visit the NYC Health Map. To find a farmers market near you, text “So Good” to 55676 (or “Muy Rico” for Spanish).

From July to November, many farmers markets host nutrition-related activities, such as food activities for kids, cooking demonstrations and adult nutrition workshops. See Nutrition Education Programs and Resources for more information.

How to Get Health Bucks

Recipients of SNAP Benefits

For every $2 spent at farmers markets using SNAP on an EBT card, you can get $2 in Health Bucks, up to $10 per day. Health Bucks are available year-round at NYC farmers markets that accept EBT.

Community and Faith-Based Organizations

Not-for-profit organizations can apply to receive free Health Bucks to distribute to community members as an incentive to participate in nutrition education and other health-related activities.

The 2025 Application for Health Bucks is available here. Note, free Health Bucks are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If your organization would like to purchase Health Bucks coupons, email farmersmarkets@health.nyc.gov for more information.
