The Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City cultivates partnerships that combine the incomparable reach of government with the entrepreneurial spirit of the private sector to create a stronger and more just city for all New Yorkers. We are enormously grateful for the support of the individuals, foundations, and corporations that generously donate and partner with us to improve the lives of New Yorkers.
Initiative Highlights
- Asylum Seeker Relief Fund supports asylum seekers with relief programs and services that address a range of needs including immediate survival needs, legal information and services, workforce support, housing and relocation services, among others.
- Civic Innovation supports Mayor's Fund’s ongoing operations and our ability to advance key City initiatives including expanding career pathways for youth, supportive services, and emergency relief.
- Diversity in Journalism Fund, launched in July 2023, will support the next generation of journalists and ensure that our newsrooms are as diverse as they communities they cover. Donations will support scholarships for New York City students of color to pursue a career in journalism.
- Medical Debt Relief Program, in partnership with RIP Medical Debt, will relieve medical debt for up to 500,000 working-class New Yorkers. Medical debt disproportionately affects uninsured, under-insured, and low-income households.
- Women Forward NYC addresses gender disparities by connecting women, including transgender and gender expansive New Yorkers of all ages to professional development and higher-paying jobs; dismantling barriers to sexual, reproductive, and maternal healthcare; reducing gender-based violence; and providing holistic housing services, including for formerly incarcerated women and domestic and gender-based violence survivors.
