The Theatrical Workforce Development Program is delivered in partnership with MOME, the Roundabout Theatre Company, and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. This three-year program trains young adult New Yorkers ages 18-24 to work as stage hands and technicians with New York City-based theater companies and/or to pursue further education in the field. The program also seeks to create a more diverse, inclusive, and sustainable career pathway for a new generation of stage hands and technicians in the theater industry. Participants take part in a six-week boot camp, which includes an introduction to the theater industry, key occupational skills, and certifications with ongoing supportive services, a 10-month technical training and union mentorship, and two years of work experience with theater companies in technician jobs.
