KEY FEATURES
HOW WE CREATED MENTAL HEALTH FOR ALL
We developed the Mental Health for All website in-house in partnership with the First Lady of New York City and various City agencies. The technology team quickly stood up the site by leveraging existing design patterns. We were able to iterate based on feedback we got by usability testing the site.
The first version of the website was launched in August 2021. Future iterations will include new features and information about more services to support New Yorkers in need of mental health resources.
The Mental Health for All website meets the Level AA web accessibility standards from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. As the site evolves, we’ll work closely with the Mayor’s Office for People With Disabilities to ensure the site continues to meet accessibility standards.
TECHNOLOGY POWERING MENTAL HEALTH FOR ALL
The Mental Health for All website uses both third-party and internally developed open-source software. The NYCO Patterns CLI generates a static build of the 25+ service pages styled using the Growing Up NYC Patterns and tested for accessibility standards using Pa11y. The service directory uses the NYCO WordPress Archive Vue application to filter services. The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services through the NYC Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications..
The Mental Health for All website is available as an open-source project hosted on GitHub for you to learn more about the underlying technology.
