MoveMore Challenge Details

STEPtember is a fun month-long challenge where teams from across the city will compete to be crowned the STEPtember 2018 winner! If you participated in last year’s competition, please be sure to read through carefully, as some of the details have changed.

This year’s challenge is TEAM-BASED by agency.

  • Each participating agency is given a set number of teams based on their size.
  • WorkWell NYC will set up teams for participants to join. Teams will be identifiable by your agency’s name (i.e. CCRB-1. CCRB-2) and logo.
  • Teams will consist of 20 spots and must have a minimum of 15 people in order to compete.
  • Participants (from the same agency) that are interested in being on the same team should register for the same team (i.e. DOH-2) once registration begins.
  • Participants can switch their teams as many times as they would like, however, this feature will be turned off once the challenge begins.
  • Please encourage participants to register early as spots are limited!

The STEPtember Walking Challenge is powered by MoveSpring.

  • Participants can access MoveSpring via the web or mobile device.
  • Most wearable devices sync with MoveSpring (including Fitbit, Apple Watch, Jawbone, etc.), however, participants are not required to have a wearable device to participate. Pedometers are welcomed!
  • iPhones and Androids are able to track steps as long as long as the device is being carried at all times!
  • Android phones require the Google Fit app to be installed in addition to the MoveSpring app in order to sync steps.

All employees are encouraged to participate!

  • This year, WorkWell NYC wants to ensure that employees with varying levels of physical ability can participate.  Our goal is inclusion!
  • If any employee identifies themselves as having any physical limitations and would like to participate in the challenge, please have them contact for additional information on how to register.
