Local DNA Index System (LDIS) Statistics

The Local DNA Index System is the local portion of the national DNA database called the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS). Each state has a State DNA Index System (SDIS) and there is a National DNA Index System (NDIS). The OCME LDIS contains DNA profiles from crime scenes, missing persons, and relatives of missing persons that are uploaded into SDIS and then NDIS. The OCME LDIS also contains DNA profiles of "persons of interest" relating to a crime that are stored in the Subject Index and employees of and visitors to the OCME that are stored in the LabTypes Index. The Subject Index and LabTypes Index are not uploaded to SDIS or NDIS.
