Message from the Executive Deputy Commissioner

Welcome to NYC Health Insurance Link (HI Link), a website of the Human Resources Administration's Office of Citywide Health Insurance Access (HRA OCHIA).

This is your website for health insurance coverage and care information.

The way New Yorkers find and enroll in health insurance coverage has changed dramatically since the passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010. New York State now has the NY State of Health, the Official Health Plan Marketplace for health insurance in New York. The NY State of Health is a prime point of access for most non-elderly resident to public health insurance options, such as Medicaid and the new Essential Plan, and private health insurance with financial assistance to reduce to overall cost of coverage. A small group of New Yorkers still get coverage through existing channels, such as HRA's Medical Assistance program or directly through private insurers.

You can use this website to help you better understand what health insurance options are available and which of them might be right for you, your family or your small business both through the NY State of Health as well as other existing channels to find health insurance and how to get that insurance in and outside of the Marketplace. If you can't get health insurance, you can find information about how to get quality health care that you and your family can afford.

This website is an important tool in OCHIA's overall mission to expand access to health insurance coverage for NYC residents and small businesses. We also use this website to provide information and as a technical assistance hub for health insurance assistors who work tirelessly to connect New Yorkers to coverage in the places that they live, work and play.

We hope that you can find what you need and that you use what you find on this website. We welcome your comments and suggestions to help us to continue to make this a valuable resource for our fellow New Yorkers.
