Home+

Home+ (said as Home Plus) is a program of the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) that provides free security and safety resources to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence who want to stay in their homes instead of going to a shelter or somewhere else. Home+ has replaced the Human Resource Administration’s Alternative to Shelter (ATS) Program in all five (5) New York City Boroughs.

Any survivor of domestic or gender-based violence who wants to increase safety in their home is eligible for Home+. Orders of Protection (“restraining orders”), police reports, current or previous legal cases, and/or involvement with any systems are not required to become a Home+ client.

Home+ provides survivors living in New York City with:

  1. Personal Emergency Response Systems (“alarm systems”) to call for help
  2. Safety-planning, case management, and referral services from borough-based domestic violence services organizations

Alarm systems offered through Home+ can be installed, set-up, and operate to be accessible for people with disabilities, including individuals who are blind or low vision and/or deaf or hard of hearing. ENDGBV is committed to continuing to make the Home+ program accessible for people with disabilities other than those listed above.
