Auto Pounds

The NYPD auto pounds, as distinct from the tow pounds, are used to store vehicles that have been seized for reasons other than parking violations. A vehicle might be towed and brought to one of the NYPD auto pounds as a result of:

• Arrest of the vehicle's operator
• Vehicle is part of an investigation
• Vehicle has been seized for legal reasons.

Call one of the below listed Auto Pounds to determine where your vehicle is located and how to retrieve it. The Auto Pounds only accept the following credit cards in payment for storage and Rotation Tow fees: American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.  No Cash or Checks will be accepted. DIRECTIONS
By Car

From Staten Island, South Brooklyn, and Queens
Take I-278 E, Belt Parkway to Queens. Exit from Belt Parkway at Exit 19 onto NY-878 E/ Nassau Expressway. Follow NY-878/Nassau Expressway to the Springfield Gardens Auto Pound.

From North Brooklyn
Take I-278 E, I-495 E, and I-678 S/Van Wyck Expressway to NY 878/Nassau Expressway in Queens. Take Exit 1 from I-678 S/Van Wyck Expressway. Continue on NY-878/Nassau Expressway to the Springfield Gardens Auto Pound.

From Manhattan
Take the FDR Drive northbound to the RFK Bridge. From the bridge, take the Grand Central Parkway E (eastbound) toward LaGuardia Airport. Merge onto I-678 S/Van Wyck Expressway S via Exit 13S toward Kennedy Airport. Exit at the Belt Parkway E/NY-27 E, Exit 1E, on the left toward Eastern Long Island. Merge onto NY 878 E via Exit 1. Turn right onto Farmers Boulevard. Turn Left onto N Boundary Road and continue until you reach the Springfield Gardens Auto Pound.

From the Bronx
From I-95, take I-295 S, Cross Island Parkway and Belt Parkway to S Conduit Avenue in Queens. Exit at Exit 21A from the Belt Parkway. Take Guy Brewer Boulevard S to N Boundary Road. Continue on N Boundary Road until reaching the Springfield Gardens Auto Pound.
