The NYPD accomplishes their mission through the deployment of more than 30,000 uniformed officers across 77 precincts, 12 transit bureaus, nine New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Police Service Areas, and in specialized units such as the Intelligence, Counterterrorism, Aviation, Marine, and Organized Crime Control.
