The Correction Asian Jade Society is a fraternal organization with chapters in many of the different branches of law enforcement. The New York City Correction Department Asian Jade Society was founded by correction officer Henry Lee in 1983. At that time, there were only a handful of Asian officers in the Department and so they decided to form this society to share common interests, represent the Asian community within the department with a unified front, and provide support for one another.
The mission of the NYCD Asian Jade Society is to foster close bonds and friendships amongst its membership.  The society organizes social events during which members can share common interests, experiences and support for both professional and personal issues.  The Asian Jade Society also serves as a bridge between the Asian community of New York City and Department of Correction.

It is their goal to promote cultural diversity and awareness within the law enforcement agencies as well as understanding and cooperation between the Department and the communities we serve.  The society promotes cultural awareness amongst its own members as well as with the rest of the department.  The Asian Jade Society also strives to increase recruitment of Asian officers for the Department of Correction
