"Six months ago, Donald Trump broke a promise to hundreds of thousands of young Dreamers across the nation who put their trust in the federal government. Today we rally outside Trump Tower to call on the President to put an end to this shameful, self-inflicted crisis. Court rulings don't change the urgency for Congress to act. Thousands of DACA recipients have already lost legal status, and thousands more are living in a cruel limbo.

"In New York City we will not rest until there is a legislative solution for Dreamers. In addition to the 30,000 New Yorkers who've received protection under the DACA program, the DREAM Act would benefit 120,000 more young Dreamers in NYC who deserve safety from deportation to live, study, work, and contribute to our city. Despite this, the President has rejected every bipartisan attempt to pass legislation. Dreamers have stepped up – now the President and Republicans in Congress need to muster the political courage to get behind legislation supported by a clear majority of Americans.

"The City encourages people who had or have DACA to connect to immigration legal help to learn about their options, such as applying to renew their DACA status. New Yorkers can call 311 and say 'ActionNYC' to receive free and safe immigration legal assistance, including help with DACA renewal."
