The Empire State Building, in partnership with the FDNY, will be illuminated in yellow, white and blue with a red and white halo at sunset on Monday, May 21st in celebration of National EMS Week 2018.
“When New Yorkers need help, when a loved one is sick or injured, they turn to our members, and the men and women of the FDNY always answer the call," said Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro. "Those here at the Empire State Building recognize the important role our Department plays in protecting New York City, and that’s why they’ve honored our members by lighting the world’s most famous building each year for a decade to kick off this week-long celebration."
EMS Week is an annual week-long series of events designed to promote public safety among all New Yorkers, attract potential EMS recruits and celebrate the life-saving efforts of more than 4,000 members of FDNY’s Emergency Medical Service.
This is the tenth consecutive year that the Empire State Building has partnered with FDNY to celebrate National EMS Week. For more information on the Empire State Building and the Lighting Partners program, visit www.esbnyc.com.
