About
The W-28 Certificate of Fitness is required for supervision of outdoor Stationary Storage Battery Systems. All energy storage uses, including stationary storage battery systems The material will present information for accepted standards, requirements and procedures for the design, installation, operation, inspection, maintenance, and decommissioning of outdoor stationary storage battery systems.
This Certificate of Fitness is valid only at a specific location and for the specific person to whom it is issued.

Before You Submit Your Application
You must pass a written exam to get a W-28 Certificate of Fitness. All applicants should review the Notice of Exam and Study Materials.
Applicants who need to take the exam must apply in person and bring the following documents:
- Completed Certificate of Fitness Application Form
- Applicants must present a Battery System Training verification letter from the owner/manufacturer/installer of the battery system.
- Battery System Training Verification Letter
- W-28 Sample of Recommendation Letter
