Fatherhood Initiative

DYCD's Fatherhood Initiative helps fathers reconnect with their children and develop essential parenting skills by helping each participant increase engagement and responsibility in his relationship with his children.

Healthy Families

The goal of the healthy families program is to support and strengthen families. Using a strength-based, case management approach, which is based on the principles of family development, programs address the particular needs of each participant.

Senior Programs and Services

Programs provide a range of services such as social and recreational activities; intergenerational activities; exercise and nutrition; and access to health insurance, medical assistance and community services.

Economic Development

Programs will provide technical assistance to prospective and current entrepreneurs and small businesses within the NDA. Activities include Small Business Start-up and Development Counseling, Employer Education, Education and Training Support, Education/Career Counseling, and Internships.

NDA Adult Literacy Program (BENL/ESOL)

Programs help New Yorkers attain the reading,writing and communication skills they want and need to gain employment and/or pursue further education.

Safety Awareness and Crime Prevention

Community members will identify a priority need within the NDA related to safety awareness and crime prevention, including issues of domestic and gender-based violence and interpersonal conflict resolution and, by working with funded contractors, raise awareness of the issue and develop coordinated prevention and intervention strategies to address it.
