Neighborhood Health Services
The Health Department's neighborhood-specific services reduce health inequities and improve health outcomes across the city. Services are available in North and Central Brooklyn, East Harlem and the South Bronx. Programs serve residents living in these areas and in the Taskforce on Racial Inclusion and Equity (TRIE) neighborhoods across the city. The Health Department partners with community organizations to:
- Provide public health and social services
- Coordinate community events
- Build community collaboration
- Conduct research and evaluation programs
Our neighborhood health services include:
- Workshops and trainings, such as naloxone education and distribution
- Maternal and family health services, such as childbirth education and crib and car seat distribution
- Seasonal events, such as farmers markets and tax preparation services
